Steel Watch Foundry Location Guide: Navigate & Disable with Ease

When it comes to locating the Steel Watch Foundry, we're talking about a journey through the Lower City that's both adventurous and strategic. Picture this: Enter the Lower City through the Basilisk Gate on the easternmost side of the zone. From there, it's a westward stroll along the streets until you hit the Wine Festival, where you'll turn south. Keep on the western path until you reach the Lower City Central Wall waypoint, passing by the Sorcerous Sundries tower along the way. Then, head south from the Waypoint, making your way past the Stormshore Armory and under the Central Wall. Follow the winding road westward, and you'll eventually arrive at the Blushing Mermaid. But we're not done yet - continue past the Blushing Mermaid and turn northwest. Now, here's where it gets interesting: from the west side of the Blushing Mermaid, you've got two options to reach the Steel Watch Foundry. You can either sneak around the docks and try to sweet-talk your way past the resident members of The Guild (although, heads up, this could lead to a bit of a showdown), or you can take the safer but longer route, heading northwest towards Baldur's Gateway before doubling back to go southwest. Follow this path south to skirt around the harbor until you reach the Grey Harbor Docks waypoint, just south of Lady Jannath's Estate. And voila! Right behind this waypoint lies the Steel Watch Foundry, offering easy access for those not quite ready to take on the challenge just yet.

Now, let's talk strategy for disabling the Steel Watch. Step one: Get your hands on the Runepowder Bomb from the Ironhand Gnomes. To kick things off, make your way to the Ironhand Gnomes' hideout. Once you've crossed into the Lower City and hit the South Span Checkpoint, prepare to be intercepted by one of the Steel Watchers. But fear not! During the ensuing cutscene, an Ironhand Gnome swoops in and throws a device that temporarily disables the Watcher, giving you a chance to slip through the Checkpoint. Now, the real fun begins just before the cellar. Head back to the Sword Coast Courier, right before the South Span Checkpoint, and scout out the cliff below the Courier building - that's where you'll find the entrance to a cave, the hideout of the Ironhand Gnomes. Inside, chat with Wulbren to get your hands on the Runepowder Bomb and learn about their plan to take down the Steel Watch for good.

Break Into the Steel Watch Foundry, Then Defeat Cultists & Watchers

Now, onto the action-packed part: breaking into the Steel Watch Foundry and dealing with those pesky cultists and watchers. The Foundry, situated on the far western side of the Lower City in the Grey Harbor Docks, is where the real challenge lies. To get in, keep a close eye on the movements of the Steel Watchers inside and only make your move when they're out of sight. Your best bet for entry is on the Foundry's south side. Avoid the Watchers, make your way to the entrance, and either jump up or use the lift to get inside. Now, it's game time. Enable Turn-Based Mode to avoid getting caught by the Watchers patrolling in real-time. Inside, you'll stumble upon a clash between the Gondian workers and their guards, the Bane Worshippers. Join forces with the Gondians and take down this initial wave of cultists. But beware, deeper into the Foundry awaits another set of Banite Cultists and hostile Hellfire Watchers. Keep an eye out for the Motivator left behind by the Cultists - it's a ticking time bomb that needs to be deactivated before it's too late. And when it comes to the Hellfire Watchers, remember, they pack a punch with their attacks, so tread carefully.

Use Invisibility To Sneak Past The Steel Watch Titan

Now, here's where things get dicey: facing off against the Steel Watch Titan and its Hellfire Watcher minions. But fear not, there's a sneaky alternative. Upon reaching the depths of the Foundry and encountering the Titan along with its fiery companions, you can opt for the stealthy route. Cast Invisibility on yourself or pop an Invisibility Potion, initiate Turn-Based Mode, and use movement-boosting abilities like Dash and Misty Step to navigate the boss arena without triggering combat. Keep your party outside the room, ensuring the character carrying the Runepowder Bomb is ready to plant it.

Plant The Bomb & Watch The Fireworks

Whether you choose stealth or face the Titan head-on, it all comes down to planting the Runepowder Bomb and witnessing the spectacle. Make your way to the other end of the room, where the Neurocitor awaits. Interact with the Heart of the Steel Watch Foundry, with the bomb in tow, and watch as the Foundry goes up in flames. As the dust settles, you'll be greeted by Wulbren Bongle, who'll offer his congratulations on a job well done. But beware, tensions between the Ironhands and the surviving Gondians may come to a head, and it'll be up to you to choose a side for the final showdown against the Absolute.
