Decoding Substory 15: A Walk on West Aloha Beach

Embark on a journey through Substory 15, titled Samurai, May We Walk Together?, unfolding its narrative amidst the scenic beauty of West Aloha Beach during the third captivating chapter. To initiate this Substory, players must first unlock the intriguing Poundmates feature, a boon obtained by paying a visit to Jeff's taco truck in the course of the main storyline.

The Substory commences with our protagonist, Ichiban, gearing up for a refreshing swim in the ocean. However, a group of menacing thugs interrupts this serene moment, harassing an innocent woman. A swift battle against these level 9 adversaries ensues, leading to a consequential encounter with Nathan, a TV station director embroiled in an interview centered around Japanese tourists. As the narrative unfolds, players encounter pivotal choices that can shape Ichiban's fate.

Upon accepting Nathan's interview proposal, the story unfolds at a food truck. Three delectable choices—Kalua Pig, Mahi Mahi, and Rice and Millet—await Ichiban. While the gang subtly nudges towards the Japanese dish, the savvy choice here is the third option: Rice and Millet, resulting in a substantial +20 boost to Ichiban's Confidence stat.

Post-feast, Nathan guides Ichiban to a crosswalk, where a gentle rain graces the scene. A choice between an umbrella and a traditional Fukaamigasa hat surfaces. Opting for the latter proves the right move, enhancing Ichiban's Kindness stat by +20.

The journey continues with a game of darts alongside the charismatic Marilyn, who opts for conventional darts. A choice emerges between regular darts and the exotic Shurikens. Interestingly, all options yield the same outcome, granting players the freedom to choose. The Substory advances, weaving its narrative until a return to Aloha Beach prompts another encounter with level 9 foes.

Emerging victorious against the formidable adversaries, Nathan expresses gratitude by offering two tantalizing Bright Yellow Sweets, reminiscent of the Samurai bribe from days of yore. As an added bonus, Nathan becomes a valuable Poundmate, ready to assist in battle.
