Upgrade Your Armor: Crafting, Stealing, and Twitch Drops

Crafting & Upgrading Simple Armor

The primary approach, widely adopted for acquiring early-game armor, involves crafting various Simple types of Clothing using the Simple Sewing Bench. Players typically procure this bench from the Essence Trader within their Abeyance Realm. The Simple armor set comprises Boots, Breeches, Capelet, Gloves, Headwrap, Shirt, and Pack, each necessitating different quantities of Leather and Plant Fibre. To obtain these materials, players must embark on hunting expeditions in their Abeyance Realm or venture into an Antiquarian Realm. Depending on the materials utilized, each piece of Simple clothing typically provides approximately 16 Armor. Subsequently, players advance through the game's narrative or indulge in exploration until they uncover the Simple Upgrade Bench Recipe. Employing this bench, players can elevate their gear to at least Uncommon Rarity, requiring 40 T1 Essence per item upgraded. This enhancement propels players to a Gear Score of about 40, enabling further progression in the main campaign and unlocking access to superior Armor at the Essence Trader in a Provisioner Realm.

To further augment the efficacy of this early-game armor, players can utilize the Simple Enchanter's Focus to create Charms or Infusions, which can be slotted into their Uncommon Gear. Alternatively, employing T2 Leather can result in the creation of even more robust Simple Armor at its base level.

Stealing & Upgrading An NPC's Armor

A somewhat unconventional yet effective method for acquiring early-game Armor involves a touch of thievery. Upon encountering the Essence Trader in the Abeyance Realm and aiding the nearby NPC to complete a few tasks, players can recruit them as a Companion. Subsequently, by interacting with the NPC and delving into their inventory, players can appropriate their attire. Although slightly inferior to the Simple Clothing route, upgrading these clothes remains an option, enabling players to enhance their appearance while simultaneously boosting their Gear Score.

Getting The Nightingale Twitch Drops

A time-limited opportunity available until March 4th, 2024, involves acquiring Nightingale Twitch Drops. Players must link their Twitch Account to their Steam and/or Epic Account via Inflexion's official website. Subsequently, they need to accumulate specific watch times on Nightingale streams hosted by drop-supported streamers to obtain the coveted gear. The gear includes an Umbrella after 2 hours of viewing, Outfit 1 after 4 hours, Outfit 2 after 6 hours, and a Distinguished Puppy after 8 hours. Given the considerable watch time requirements, it's advisable to break up these sessions or maintain an active tab with a stream open rather than attempting continuous viewing. Despite the substantial investment of time, the quality of this Gear is undeniably formidable, with each piece boasting around 58 Armor by default. A single upgrade of every piece in either Twitch Drop outfit elevates players to a Gear Score of approximately 70, granting access to late-game Major Cards and their corresponding Realms. Although the ease with which players can attain such potent armor early in the game via stream-watching may seem game-breaking, it bears little consequence in a non-competitive gaming environment.
