FF7 Rebirth: Mastering Party Management and Swapping
In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, party management becomes pivotal upon reaching the Grasslands in chapter 2. Here, players gain access to a system that organizes their companions into two distinct categories: the frontline and the backline. The frontline consists of Cloud and two other members, all of whom players can freely swap between during combat, actively engaging in battles. Meanwhile, the backline comprises the remaining two companions, who partake in standard attacks but remain beyond player control. Therefore, players must strategically choose which two companions will stand alongside Cloud in the fray. Additionally, every party requires a leader, initially Cloud by default. However, players retain the flexibility to manually assign another member as the party leader. To execute these changes, players navigate to the Combat Settings in the main menu, selecting Edit Party to access the party management interface. Here, they can easily discern the current frontline and backline members and utilize the bumper buttons to cycle between preset party configurations. Swapping members is a straightforward process—players select the desired member to switch out from the frontline, confirm the change, and choose the replacement from the backline. Notably, the arrangement of frontline members holds no significant bearing on gameplay dynamics. To designate a leader, players highlight the desired frontline member and designate them as the leader with the Set as Leader option. All adjustments are automatically saved, allowing players to seamlessly return to their adventure after configuring their party to their liking.
